T-shirt Designs - LRR Inspired
|Heya all, been gone for a week(work stuff), and while gone I had an idea for a T-shirt and I wanted to run it by you.
The idea of the shirt is hardly new but I haven't seen anything like it in concept anywhere.
What do you think? Graham especially sicne I've heard you quote the damn line several times in the LRRCast.
And I'mn ot too sure on the font but I'll be damned if I go through all 600 fonts on my computer for a concept.

|Good point about the nose area... I don't know why I cut it straight off.

And it on a shirt just to see:
and for anyone who's not sure on the reference here's a single image:

That's a really hard-to-get image until you stare at it a bit, even with the change. It looks like some odd symbol at first, and that empty space beneath the moustache part and the beard part is confusing. For those who don't get the "Kneel" reference, like myself, reading "Kneel" makes you think of the knees, of a figure kneeling, or other images, not a goatee, and that throws you further off.
Personally? I'd have seen it as a face instantly if it had more upper bounds definition. The arches of eyebrows and the nose are huge facial recognition factors, and seeing the flat colors of a beard-shaded chin is confusing without more cues.

...and what he said.
I was going to post something like that but couldn't think of the words I needed for some reason, but I think you put it better than I would have anyway

Well, the point of the image is that it's Supposed to be confusing at first. It's supposed to be one of those "I don't get... OHHH!!!" kind of designs.
If I added more of the face it would totally kill the design.
That's the whole reason I didn't want to use the entire quote too. It needs to be a confusing shirt. Especially for people who don't know the reference.
I also had an idea for a pair of Panties that says "Only a penitant man will pass" because for some reason all my designs revolve around kneeling it would seem

Yeah, I didn't even get that far. I GUESS I NEED TO WATCH MORE SUPERMAN.
I thought it was a headless, armless person sitting cross-legged, meditating. It's like a Rorschach test! But then I saw the second one, with the nose, and noticed the little jaggies, and read Graham say "goatee," and was like, "ooooh."
